A similar wallpaper appears in most editions of Server 2003, which is grey instead and uses the logo corresponding with its version. The wallpaper does not appear in Windows XP Starter Edition and late 2000s Embedded editions of XP, which have different branding wallpapers. Prior to build 2485, a completely different branding wallpaper was used, consisting of the Windows XP logo over a white-blue radial gradient.
Usageīetween builds 24, this was set as the default wallpaper (Home Edition build 2498 uses the same wallpaper as Professional) it was later reverted back to Bliss, which had previously served as the default wallpaper between builds 2465 to 2481. The logo render was created by the design studio REZN8, who also created the flag screensaver, while the wallpaper itself was created by Horace Luke, the creative director of Windows XP. It depicts a CGI Windows logo on a blue (green in Home Edition) background along with the Windows XP wordmark and the edition the user is using in the bottom right corner. Windows XP is the branding wallpaper included in Windows XP (as well as a variant in Windows Server 2003), although Bliss serves as the default wallpaper. The version used in Windows XP Professional.
